What is it about fall that is just so magical?! Is it the pumpkin spice lattes? Comfy flannels and cozy sweaters? Finally lighting a fire on a crisp night? Pulling your boots and scarves out of hibernation? Whatever it is… dressing for fall is SO FUN.

But what about RIGHT NOW?! It still feels like summer, and pretty soon the weather will be a mix of warm days and cool nights. This is the fall transitional period that can also be fun. Because… layers!

Here’s a little peek into the most recent Blooming Cactus Boutique photo shoot! It is a combination of wear-right-now warm weather outfits, and layers that transition right into fall. The items pictured here are launching on the BCB website Friday morning at 9 am PST! Some of them are limited numbers available, so be sure to set an alarm to shop right away! Kimberly (on the left) is wearing the new Evelyn tank in grey (keep reading below to see it in navy). This surplice wrap top style is all the rage in fashion right now (and nursing friendly)! It also looks cute layered with a bralette (keep reading to see). Kimberly is also wearing the BCB perfect distressed skinny jeans, tan espadrille wedges, and layered feather necklace in silver.

For cooler temps, just throw on your favorite cozy cardigan. Kimberly is wearing our Nora cardigan in ivory – the perfect soft, fuzzy, and comfy cardigan – but it’s still lightweight and perfect for fall. We also have the cardi in gorgeous rust and blush colors!

Kimberly’s chic bag and sunglasses are perfection to finish off the outfit!

Kat (on the right in first photo above) is wearing the new BCB Kylie halter tank, which comes in this gorgeous light olive green color. Again, the tank is great on its own, or as a layer under your favorite cardi or jean jacket. She is also wearing the BCB dark wash distressed jeans and new Eleanor necklace in gold.

Next up is my personal favorite outfit I’ve already been wearing on repeat!

Here I am wearing the new Evelyn tank in navy, layered with the BCB lace bralette in brick, the new Paisley kimono and layered feather necklace in gold, tassel earrings in ivory, and BCB perfect ripped skinny jeans. This kimono is the perfect lightweight layer to wear right now with a tank, while it’s warm. When temps are a bit cooler, you can layer the kimono with a long-sleeve.

This type of layered look (bralette + tank + kimono or sweater) is exactly the trend I saw everywhere at the MAGIC fall fashion tradeshow this year! (<– click to read my blog post about it)

Now, for another favorite layered look!

Kat is wearing one of my favorite tanks: the Peachy tank, with the new Nora cardigan in rust. It’s the perfect way to dress for warm days and cool mornings/nights, and keep wearing your summer favorites into early fall. She is also wearing the BCB perfect distressed skinny jeans, the new Eleanor necklace in gold, and our customer favorite BFF flats in cognac (just recently restocked!).

Now, this show-stopping gorgeous blouse is my absolutely favorite new long-sleeve!

The new Emma blouse is very similar to a popular Free People top that is $98… while this one is half the price. It is an oversized thermal (in a gorgeous sage-blue color) with wide bubble sleeves. The chiffon sleeves feature a boho paisley print with shiny gold accents. The thermal fabric is a suuuper soft waffle knit (the big trend for this fall and winter).

Now here’s another stunning look on Brylee!

Here she is wearing the plus size Fiona blouse, another wrap top style, with the trendy cold shoulder and a tie on the side. Sooo cute! The color is perfect for fall but also can be worn year-round. When it gets cool, just add your favorite cardi. Brylee is also wearing a layering tank and dark wash distressed skinny jeans.

And finally, it wouldn’t be a BCB shoot without a gorgeous romantic dress that you just have to have!

Tera is wearing the new Mia dress: a gorgeous rose floral in fall/winter colors, on a black background. It is a true wrap dress that is secured with a belt that goes through the dress and ties on the side. It has a hi-low hem that overlaps in front, a wrap top (again, nursing friendly), and flutter sleeves. So stunning!

A big shout-out to the gorgeous The Scott Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, where all of these photos were taken (and many more to be revealed in the near future). All of us gals were enamored with how gorgeous the buildings and the grounds are, as well as the chic guest rooms.
