Train-themed birthday party!

It’s been a long time since I’ve blogged, but I thought I would share some pics from the train-themed birthday party we just had for my son. (Second birthday)

The two-year-old guest of honor (and a baby brother on the way)!

The party was at the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park in Scottsdale — a perfect venue for any train-loving child! A word to the wise, though…. If you want to book a shaded ramada, you have to do it months in advance (for parties during the nice-weather months). There are also a whole bunch of first-come, first-served picnic table areas. But people start showing up at 7 am to reserve these on a Saturday! We lucked out and found a place for our party today.

Train-themed birthday party  These party favors were basically the highlight of the party!!! I ordered the engineer hats, bandanas, and train whistles from Oriental Trading (online). The kids looked ADORABLE wearing these little get-ups. They all blew their train whistles while we walked over to the train and while we rode the train. It was cuteness overload. I wish I could share pics of all these cuties, but I don’t want to blast my friends’ kids faces all over the internet, so I will refrain.

Oh yeah, the chevron plates, napkins, and other party supplies were also from Oriental Trading. Very convenient to order everything from the same place.

I designed these cupcake-toppers myself, using picmonkey. Cupcakes from Fry’s with whipped cream frosting… delicious!
