Shop Small & Support Local this Holiday Season: Lincoln, NE Holiday Gift Guide

We are new to Nebraska–we moved here in May, from Arizona. And I have made it my mission to discover all of the local small businesses, locally-owned restaurants, and local makers & artists to support! I have discovered that the Lincoln maker + small biz landscape is SO RICH!! Read below and I guarantee you will be introduced to at least a few businesses or makers that you weren’t aware of before! 🙂

Thanks to tips from my Instagram followers, plus my own explorations, I have compiled this holiday shopping guide to help you support Lincoln-area small businesses and makers this holiday season. Let’s be honest… Amazon and big box stores DO NOT need our purchases to “get by” this year; but small businesses and local entrepreneurs CERTAINLY DO! It has been a doozy of a year, and I am so excited to shop small for holiday gifts this year. The purpose of this gift guide is to make shopping local EASY for you this year!

Even if you don’t have the finances to purchase from many of these businesses, you can support them by following them on Instagram (each one is linked via the pictures below) and by liking, commenting, and/or sharing their posts! Unique (and Nebraska-Themed) Gifts for Anyone on Your List:

**Little Mountain Print Shoppe:** You have to check out Little Mountain’s Instagram “Reels” to see their cool way of printing these clothing items by hand! Each design was hand-drawn and has a really cool local vibe and color palette. There’s a reason I chose to partner with them for my own Instagram photos announcing this gift guide… I love their organic and natural vibe!! You can shop these awesome items IN PERSON at their shop, and might even be lucky enough to meet Joe, the artist and mastermind of this local business. **The Loft by Lee Douglas Interiors:** Have you heard of/been to this shop in the cutest building ever, near 48th & Pioneers?! **From Nebraska:** I recently stopped in to this large gift shop in the Haymarket and had a blast browsing around. (Bonus, their shop also houses the James Arthur Vineyards wine tasting room!) **Paper Kite:** This ADORABLE local shop has a ton of great baby and kid items, but did you know that they also have an assortment of home goods, beauty items, candles, paper goods, stationery, and more?! (They even have beautiful holiday decor & ornaments, cards, and wrapping paper.) You can shop their unique goods online or in-store. Home Decor, Candles, Plants, and More:

**Wax Buffalo**: perhaps the most well-known small business in LNK! You can order their amazing candles online, but stopping into their shop in the Haymarket is even more fun… you will dig the aesthetic AND get to sniff all the amazing candle scents in person. It is a can’t-miss destination in Lincoln, in my opinion. **MY FAV GIFT PICKS:** (1) The Candle Lab: Pour Your Own Candle Set, $40; (2) Seriously any of their candles, $22-$34; (3) Specifically, the Campfire Coffee Candle (coffee scented candle in a reusable mug = 2 gifts in one!), $28; and (4) Deluxe Seasonal Curated Subscription Box (candle + awesome seasonal goodies), $35

**Modern Basik Ceramics:** How gorgeous are these vases, handcrafted here in Lincoln?! **Campbell’s Nursery:** Give the gift of a live plant to someone you love this year! Campbell’s is my personal favorite destination for house plants. Stop by and pick out a pretty houseplant + decorative pot to really make someone smile this year! 🙂

**Feya Candles:** Gifts that give back!! Feya was started 7 years ago, and the candles are hand-poured right here in Lincoln. Every candle purchased from Feya provides a meal to a child in need. For every bar of soap sold, they donate one to a homeless shelter or mission. Every reed diffuser purchased provides clean water to places in need around the world. So neat!! **Cooper & Co.:** Lincoln’s favorite family-owned and operated furniture & decor store is also a great destination for holiday gift shopping! **MY FAV GIFT PICKS:** (1) cozy throw blanket; (2) cute home signs; and (3) candles!

**Of The Earth Florals:** Wow, Wow, Wow! How pretty are these Instagram photos?! Step into Of The Earth Florals to order a custom floral arrangement for your loved one, or shop for a live plant & pot, or beautiful dried pampas grass! I just recently purchased a dried bouquet of flowers, greens, and pampas for $18, and I am obsessed with how pretty it is! In store, you can also check out their paper goods and candles.

**The Coffee Roaster:** This 25-year Lincoln coffee biz uses a unique method of “air roasting” coffee beans, to avoid a burnt or bitter coffee taste. The Coffee Roaster also has a “Community Give Back Program,” partnering with other organizations “to uplift and enlighten those in our community who strive to better the world.” Pretty cool! **MY FAV GIFT PICKS:** (1) The Coffee Roaster Coffee Beans, available from 8 oz. up to 5lbs., $8 and up; (2) Coffee Press To Go, $30 (20 oz. steel travel press brewer for on-the-go!); (3) Coffee Roaster Cork-Bottom Mug, $16; (4) Loose-Leaf Teas, from $4.45

**Tasty Good Toffee:** This delish small-batch, handmade toffee makes a great gift, and was another recent discovery of mine at a holiday shopping event. I met Katie, the owner and toffee maker, who told me that this business began with her grandma’s toffee recipe, and then expanded into many new and fun recipes! I noticed that when you shop online, you can score free shipping with a $35+ order. But the Tasty Good website also has a list of locations where you can find their toffees in stores, if you prefer to shop in person. **MY FAV GIFT PICKS:** (1) A bag of toffee in one of their DELISH flavors (like Churro, Dark Chocolate Sea Salt, Hot Cocoa, White Chocolate Pecan, and more), $6 for 3 oz. or $14 for 8 oz.; (2) Tasty Good Toffee Classic 3-pack, $42; or (3) A Tasty Good Toffee Gift Card, $15+

**The Gourmet Granola:** This Omaha-based small business saw the gift guide and wanted to join in on the local love, so I am including them here! The Gourmet Granola provides yummy low-sugar snacks in a variety of fun flavors, and they are all gluten and dairy-free too! In addition to shopping online, their products are available in certain Lincoln-area HyVee stores too! **MY FAV GIFT PICKS:** (1) Bourbon Maple Granola, $7; (2) Granola 3-Bag Bundle, $20; and (3) Bacon Me Crazy Granola, $7

**Clean Juice:** This local spot offers up health-conscious eats and cold-pressed juices. All of their ingredients are certified organic, and their yummy food options include seasonal smoothies, salads, avocado toasts and açaí bowls. Yummmm! Also check out their juice cleanse options to boost your health. **GIFT IDEA:** A Clean Juice gift card!

Don’t forget that LOCAL RESTAURANT GIFT CERTIFICATES also make a great gift! A few our favorite local restaurants are: Honest Abe’s; Hiro 88; LOCAL Beer Patio & Kitchen (South Lincoln); Sebastian’s Table & Waffleopolis; Muchachos (new in Downtown Lincoln); and Lazlo’s… but I’m sure you also have a lot of local restaurants that come to mind to support this holiday season!

For the craft beer (and/or cider) lovers, a 6-PACK (OR GROWLER) FROM A LOCAL BREWERY is the perfect gift, don’t ya think?! Gift certificates work too. 😉 Some of our favorites are Zipline Brewing, Glacial Till ciders; Boiler Brewing Co., Kincaider Brewing Co., and Saro Cider.

**Willow + Sage Boutique:** A brand new shop in South Lincoln, featuring “local, handmade, kids/baby, home decor,
jewelry, body care, and women’s clothing” … located at 145 S. 56th Street (check their Instagram for hours).

**Tsuru:** “Boho fashion with a ❤️ of locally made goods in downtown Lincoln…” Pretty cool, right?! You can shop Tsuru’s fun assortment of clothing and goods in person or online.

**Edge Apparel:** A locally-owned boutique in South Lincoln. You can also shop their styles online here! (They have some tops for men too, FYI!)

**Patina Joe Boutique:** A cute boho-cowgirl vibe boutique located outside of Lincoln, in Eagle. You can also shop their collection online!

Local Handmade Jewelry:

**Four Blessings Jewelry:** I just discovered Four Blessings a few days ago, at a holiday shopping soiree at Cooper & Co., and I met the very sweet owner and designer, Cindy. The huge selection of earrings I saw from Four Blessings was amazing, and I immediately zeroed in on a number of cute pairs I really loved! The photos above don’t even do them justice… definitely head to the website to browse and find out which ones stand out to you. **BKV Bracelets:** This is another local business I just discovered at the Cooper & Co. holiday shopping soiree. BKV has been beading bracelets since 2012. The bracelets feature natural stone & wooden beads, and are designed to be stackable. Aren’t they so fun?! You can browse & shop their collection online here.

**Athena Handmade:** Local maker Paige creates and sells custom wood-burned items (like the customized cutting boards pictured above), and fiber arts.
